#GivingTuesdayNow

You’re likely familiar with #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that takes place later in the year following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. But as a response to the challenges COVID-19 (coronavirus) is currently presenting, Tuesday, May 5th marks #GivingTuesdayNow.

This timely day of global giving and unity aims at providing immediate relief to those in greatest need, including American Legion Auxiliary members who may have fallen on hard times.

For more than 100 years, Auxiliary members have faced adversity, yet each time, they’ve stepped up to lend a helping hand, living up to the Auxiliary’s legacy of Service Not Self.

This time is no different.

Whether powering up the sewing machine and making masks or donating to a local food pantry, members haven’t skipped a beat at carrying out what they do best – serving.

And we must keep the momentum going when it comes to alleviating burdens for our members in greatest need.

Please donate to the Auxiliary Emergency Fund on #GivingTuesdayNow and encourage others to do the same.

“We live in stressful times. Let us be the bright light during these dark moments,” said ALA National President Nicole Clapp.

Let’s continue to make a strong impact as we carry on into our next century of service.
