National Day of Prayer is a day where millions of people all over the world — people we don’t even know — come together and pray. It is a day that doesn’t matter what your beliefs are, it is a day that we are one.

Prayer is not a privilege for the pious, not the art of a chosen few. Prayer is simply a heartfelt conversation between God and His child. Doesn’t have to be fancy — it just comes from the heart.

So, on this day you may be asking, what do I pray for? Pray for someone. Pray for those people who are hurting and going through some unimaginable circumstances. Pray for those who want their lives to be better and to be free from those things that may be holding them back. Even though you may not know them, God knows their situation. Prayer is your personal key to heaven.

Remember — God is a God that still listens, a God who still answers, a God who still heals, a God who still forgives, a God who still leads, a God who still directs, a God who still cares, and a God who still loves.

On this National Day of Prayer, may we come together as one and lift and support each other in prayer today and every day.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come to you on this National Day of Prayer. We are grateful for your blessings, your mercy, and your love.

Father, we know you see the affairs of this world. We ask for your guidance for our leaders all over the world. May they seek your guidance in all things. Bless our troops who may be in harms ways.

As millions come to you today in prayer, we pray for our sick and afflicted, our lonely, our wounded hearts, our families, and our friends. You know the needs and the desires of our hearts.

These things we pray for in Your most Holy Name.

Amen.
