Happy International Women’s Day!

This day is a global celebration dedicated to recognizing and honoring the achievements, contributions, and progress of women worldwide. Each year on March 8, people around the globe come together to advocate for gender equality, women’s rights, and the empowerment of women in all aspects of life. 

To honor the powerful women in our ALA community, the American Legion Auxiliary Foundation is observing its second “Celebrating Women of Service” in conjunction with International Women’s Day. We hope you’ll join us by donating in honor of a woman who inspires you the way the ALA community has inspired this celebratory day of giving.

Today, the ALA Foundation Board of Directors would like to take a moment to express its deep appreciation and admiration for the incredible women who dedicate their lives to service. Whether you serve in the military, health care, education, public safety, as a dedicated volunteer or parent, or in any other capacity, your commitment and contributions do not go unnoticed.

Your resilience in the face of challenges, your compassion in times of need, and your unwavering dedication to making a positive impact inspire us all. The sacrifices you make, the long hours you put in, and the challenges you overcome demonstrate your strength and character.

In every role you play, you are shaping the future, influencing lives, and contributing to the betterment of society. Your service is a beacon of hope and testament to the power of compassion, leadership, and selflessness.

As you navigate the demands of your service, know that you are not alone. You are part of a community of strong, capable, and compassionate women who share similar journeys. Lean on each other, celebrate your successes, and support one another through the challenges.

In the moments when you doubt the impact of your service, remember the lives you’ve touched, the positive changes you’ve initiated, and the difference you’ve made. Your dedication is a force for good, and the world is a better place because of women like you.

All funds received will benefit the American Legion Auxiliary Mission Endowment Fund. The American Legion Auxiliary Mission Endowment Fund is not only great security for the ALA, but it ensures ALA members and donors that the ALA will be there for the long haul. Endowed funds can sustain organizations with invaluable financial support through unstable times.
